It’s only appropriate that I introduce myself, since we will be going on this journey together. My name is Mayra Fernanda and I am a 28 year old single woman who works at a Catholic Church as a youth minister. I’m sure you’re thinking, typical, who else would start a blog about their faith journey but a youth minister, who is single. Surprisingly, I don’t know if there are that many single 28 year olds out there writing about their faith, let alone being so open about the journey they are on. I want to share with the world the daily struggles about being a woman of faith, a daughter of God.

I’m interested in being more than just a youth minister, more than a Catholic by name. I want to dig deep down and discover the ugly, the great, the bad and the beautiful parts. I want to share my story, as I learn how to be Christlike. I want to know how to empty myself of me and fill those voids with Him. I want to do this in my daily life. Not by any extraordinary  ways but in the very ordinary.

My first journey takes me far away, Rome to be exact. A rare event, at a rare location in which I will be given the opportunity to witness Mother Teresa be declared a Saint. Stay tuned…
